Momoko Otani’s ceramics are pieces that quietly grow on you over time.
At Manufacto, we chose to carry her work after more than ten years of using it in our own daily life — discovering that the more it is used, the more it naturally fits in the hand and becomes part of everyday rituals.
Her signature motifs — lotus and banana leaves — are inspired by the landscapes she encountered during her time in Indonesia. These plants, both vital and familiar, appear in her work with a gentle and fluid expression.
Though visually distinctive, her pieces remain remarkably versatile, complementing a wide range of cuisines and settings, from simple daily meals to more refined presentations.
Each form reflects a thoughtful understanding of use, shaped by the perspective of both a maker and a life deeply rooted in the rhythms of cooking and living.
